The interview is being done in three installments, with Dave Gibbons responding to fan-generated questions. We here at Screen Rant have shaved Part 1 of the interview down into nifty little cliff notes for your quick-reading pleas
Movies worth noting that are missing from that top 10 list include The Happening (huge stinker for Shyamalan), The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (couldn't bring myself to watch it), 10,000 B.C. (do I even need to comment on this one?), Speed Racer (LSD trip for kids), and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (too niche, I suppo
The Wolverine origins flick recently made the jump into my top three simply because of the trailer that was released two weeks ago . I’m a huge Gambit fan and seeing some amazing scenes with him made me super excited for the film. The caveat to this is that if I find out Gambit does not have his Cajun accent in the film - then this movie will no longer by featured in my l

As the release date for the much-anticipated Watchmen movie draws near, the marketing machine behind the film is starting to turn its gears, hoping to lure those moviegoers not familiar with Alan Moore's groundbreaking graphic novel into theaters next Spr

Similar to the Scream Awards , I really dig the Saturn Awards because of the types of films they celebrate. Often with awards like the Oscars and the Golden Globes, purely fun films that have every bit of merit as the serious ones get left
Using all of our individual choices and an elaborate scoring system that took hundreds of hours to deliver its results (OK, I made up that last bit), I summed up and calculated our overall most anticipated movie of 2009 list for the Screen Rant t
Up until now there's been unofficial speculation that the Watchmen DVD/Blu-ray would feature an extended cut of the film--one that possibly included Tales of The Black Freighter , Watchmen 's animated story-within-a-story, interwoven with the live-action film much as it was in the original graphic no

Today marks the day when the nominations for the 36th Annual Saturn Awards are given out. In case you're not familiar with them, they are given out by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films (they also include TV shows and stage productions) so as a reader of Screen Rant I believe they're right up your alley
So if you're not clear: the DVD/Blu-ray will come in two versions. One is a director's cut that is 3 hours 10 minutes, featuring scenes cut from the 2 hour 36 minute theatrical release; the other version is the 3 hour 25 minute "ultimate cut" that will feature the director's cut footage as well as intercuts back and forth between Watchmen and Tales of The Black Freight
Here's just some of my quick thoughts on who and what's been nominated: I'm glad to see so many nominations for my favorite show Lost , racking up nine in total (nice to see Josh Holloway finally get recognition for his acting). I'm delighted to see Sam Rockwell get recognition for his fantastic performance in Moon (I was really annoyed that he didn't get nominated for an Osc

Special mentions also go out to The Surrogates , Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince , Sherlock Holmes , The Wolf Man and the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus for all being included in several of our individual top-10 lists. Some of those just barely missed out on being included in the finalized top-10 and we are certainly looking forward to them as well, among oth
Dave Gibbons: First of all, I’d have to say that I don’t necessarily see that there is a conflict between staying friends with Alan and being an active and vocal promoter for the film...Alan has had some bad experiences with Hollywood. He’s also had some less-than-happy experiences with DC. He’s decided that he doesn’t want anything to do with movie adaptations of his work...When he first heard that [ Watchmen ] was going to be a movie, [he signed] a piece of paper which removed his name from the movie and [gave] his share of the income from the movie to me...Obviously, Alan made this decision before he really knew anything at all about the movie and it was long before shooting started,...it’s not as a reaction to this product
